The Camp Verde Cowboys will head out on the road to challenge the Phoenix Christian Cougars at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Camp Verde is coming into the game hot, having won their last eight games.
Last Thursday, Camp Verde was able to grind out a solid win over Arizona Lutheran Academy, taking the game 8-3.
Aislynn Mulcaire spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Reagan Statler was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.
Meanwhile, Phoenix Christian lost 13-6 to Round Valley on Saturday. The Cougars haven't had much luck with the Elks recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Hannah Fisher made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Brianna Guerrero, who scored a run and stole two bases.
Camp Verde pushed their record up to 13-9 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Phoenix Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-3.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Camp Verde has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Phoenix Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Camp Verde couldn't quite finish off Phoenix Christian in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 and fell 10-8. Can the Cowboys avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
