The Lamar Silver Foxes were the 44-24 winner over the Green Sea Floyds Trojans when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Lamar took a 46-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of Green Sea Floyds on Tuesday. Lamar's defeat continues an unfortunate trend for the squad, making it three in a row.
Leading Green Sea Floyds to victory were Shantavia Hilliard and Dee Dee Boyd. Hilliard scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and four steals, while Boyd dropped a double-double on 11 points and 16 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Boyd has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Paris McClellan, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.
Lamar has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season. As for Green Sea Floyds, their victory bumped their record up to 6-12.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lamar will challenge Hannah-Pamplico at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Green Sea Floyds, they will head out on the road to face off against Hemingway at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Hemingway comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 23 points in their last 11 games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
