Chesapeake Math & IT Academy South can attribute much of their success to Jordan Exton, who posted 15 points, and Lincoln Nelson, who put up 16 points. Nelson has become a key player for Chesapeake Math & IT Academy South: the team is undefeated when he posts at least 15 points, but 2-7 otherwise. Chris Mayo was another key player, putting up six points and three steals.
Meanwhile, Chesapeake Math & IT Academy North earned a 69-59 win over Central on Monday. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 109th, while the Falcons are ranked 230th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Chesapeake Math & IT Academy North's win came from a few key players Chesapeake Math & IT Academy South will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Amir Morton, who went 8-for-15 to rack up 19 points and six rebounds. What's more, he also posted a 67% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Aaron Jones, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and ten boards.
Chesapeake Math & IT Academy North smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive rebounds in three consecutive matchups.
Chesapeake Math & IT Academy North is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.7 points over those games.
