The Stratford Spartans will head out on the road to face off against the Jersey Village Falcons at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Stratford is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games.
Last Friday, Stratford strolled past Memorial with points to spare, taking the game 24-10.
Aaron Deleon was his usual excellent self, throwing for 279 yards and two touchdowns. Bo Harrison got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Stratford's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Leading the way was Nicolas Sen and his two sacks.
Meanwhile, Jersey Village got themselves on the board against Northbrook on Thursday, but Northbrook never followed suit. They blew past the Raiders, posting a 42-0 victory on the road. Considering Jersey Village has won four matches by more than 35 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Jersey Village got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Adam Tran out in front who threw for 145 yards and four touchdowns while completing 76.5% of his passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Quinton Jones, who rushed for 91 yards and a touchdown on only five carries.
Stratford's win was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 6-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 42.0 points per game. As for Jersey Village, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
We should be in store for an exciting game Saturday as Stratford and Jersey Village have no problem gaining yardage. Stratford has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 378.1 total yards per game. However, it's not like Jersey Village struggles in that department as they've been even better at 424.3 per game. With a pair of commanding offenses duking it out, the defenses are going to have their work cut out for them.
Stratford took their win against Jersey Village in their previous matchup back in November of 2022 by a conclusive 49-28. The rematch might be a little tougher for Stratford since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
