Southeast Yosemite recap Oct. 9, 2012
Tehachapi moved up to 263 from 315 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Southeast Yosemite. The Warriors climbed the ranks as a result of a 42-0 win over East Bakersfield.
Garces's dynamic duo of Cruise Adams and Angus Bellue proved tough for Highland to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Adams threw for 185 yards and two touchdowns and Bellue had 64 yards receiving. Jake Sweaney helped Garces' passing attack out by catching three balls for 62 yards.
Jorge Garcia was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 165 yards on 19 carries as Tehachapi beat the Scots. Teammate Ty Curry added to the ground attack by rushing for 51 yards.
Garces' Adams and Bellue have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Adams has thrown for 1322 yards this season, while Bellue, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 23 catches for 515 yards. Steve Denman's team's Garcia leads the league in rushing yards with 688.
A big matchup in Southeast Yosemite this week will be when the Warriors take on Highland. Tehachapi is currently in first, while Steven Montanio's team is in third.
The Warriors made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 2,980 from 3,738. The improvement came about via a 42-0 victory over the Blades last week.
