The Orange County Fighting Hornets just played last night, but they'll still head out to face the Martinsville Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on December 29th. Hopefully Orange County is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Martinsville in Virginia (Orange County is ranked 131st, while Martinsville is ranked 305th).
On Thursday, Orange County beat George Washington 45-34. The win was just what Orange County needed coming off of a 48-28 defeat in their prior match.
Orange County's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Laney Fayard, who scored 14 points along with three steals, and Chloe Hebert, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds. Janiyah Hackley was another key contributor, scoring five points.
Meanwhile, in a tight contest that could have gone either way, Martinsville made off with a 48-47 win over Gretna.
Orange County pushed their record up to 8-2 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Martinsville, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
