The Seymour Owls scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They took down North Harrison 64-48. Given Seymour's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 107th, while North Harrison is ranked 217th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Despite the loss, North Harrison saw an underclassman step up: Grace Goldman scored 18 points along with six rebounds and five assists. Goldman set a new season high mark in steals with four. Meg Marinc was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
North Harrison struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only an offensive rebound. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Seymour now has a winning record of 9-8. As for North Harrison, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Seymour will stay at home for another game and welcome Center Grove at 7:30 p.m. on January 12th. North Harrison will take on Austin at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
