Basketball Game Preview: Clover Garden School Grizzlies vs. Chatham Charter Knights

Clover Garden School is 0-10 against Chatham Charter since January of 2020 but things could change on Tuesday. The Clover Garden School Grizzlies will welcome the Chatham Charter Knights at 7:30 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

Clover Garden School will bounce into Tuesday's game after beating River Mill, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Clover Garden School was the clear victor by a 56-34 margin over River Mill on Friday. The Grizzlies have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 22 points or more this season.

Clover Garden School's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Charlie Castaneda, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 14 rebounds, and Ethan Saunders, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 13 boards. Those 17 points gave Castaneda a new career-high. Brayden DeAlto was another key player, putting up seven points in addition to nine rebounds and three steals.

Clover Garden School smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 34 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Chatham Charter had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 37 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 74-51 victory.

Chatham Charter is also on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 37.2 points. As for Clover Garden School, their win bumped their record up to 7-9.

Clover Garden School was taken down by Chatham Charter 67-24 in their previous meeting back in January. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Clover Garden School was down 39-11.
