Randolph School was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Orange Beach Makos.
Liam Tomalty was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He pitched five innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. That's the fewest earned runs he has allowed since back in February of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024.
Tomalty wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jaxton Bennett, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI. Bradford Hall also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Randolph School's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Orange Beach, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.
