The Terry Bulldogs fell victim to the Hattiesburg Tigers''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were dealt a 39-0 defeat at the hands of the Tigers. Having soared to a lofty 42 points in the game before, Terry couldn't push the score so high this time.
Deuce Vance was on fire for Hattiesburg: he rushed for 133 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries, and also threw for 101 yards and two touchdowns. Vance really tore up the turf during one magnificent 75-yard run. Hattiesburg also got a significant boost from Tavares Wade, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 111 yards.
Terry's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 5-4. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 7.0 points per game. As for Hattiesburg, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Terry will take on Forest Hill at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Hattiesburg, they will be playing at home against West Jones at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. West Jones is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
