The Loyalton Grizzlies scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They breezed by Westwood at home to the tune of 81-41. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Loyalton also won the last time the pair played back in January.
It was another big night for Aidan Shelby, who dropped a double-double on 35 points and 15 rebounds. Shelby is crushing the block category: he's posted at least three every time he's taken the court this season. Wyatt Kellner was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Loyalton has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season. As for Westwood, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-13.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Loyalton's homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on February 5th. Hopefully Portola focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Friday. As for Westwood, they will be playing at home against the Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Whittell is no doubt hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses.
