The Metcalfe County Hornets will square off against the Caverna Colonels at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Metcalfe County is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Warren Central on Monday as they made off with an 18-3 victory. The Hornets haven't had any issues with the Dragons recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Harper Hurt made a big impact no matter where she played. She pitched three innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in May of 2025. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple was her first of the season.

In other batting news, LeeElla Boles was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Groce, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, three runs, and one RBI.
Metcalfe County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Caverna never let their opponents score on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over Fort Knox. Considering the Colonels have won ten contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Adreana Salvador was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 13 over six innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Caverna got a big performance out of Dallia Wood, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was Jayanah Nuckols, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Metcalfe County's victory bumped their record up to 6-17. As for Caverna, their win bumped their record up to 13-14.
