Hickory Grove Christian entered their tilt with Metrolina Christian Academy on Friday with five consecutive wins  but they'll enter their next game with six. They were the clear victor by  a  55-31 margin over the Metrolina Christian Academy Warriors. The Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six  matches by 24  points or more this season.
Hickory Grove Christian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Kevin Powell, who  went 5 of 8  en route to 18  points along with six  rebounds and four  steals. The dominant performance gave  Powell a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of  Gavin Kiser, who  dropped  a double-double on ten points and 15  rebounds.
 Hickory Grove Christian was working as a unit and  finished the game with 13  assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Metrolina Christian Academy only racked up seven  assists.
 Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was   Patrick Depp, who  posted 12 points.  Malachi Wilson was another key player,  putting up five points.
Hickory Grove Christian pushed their record up to 9-8 with the  win, which was their fourth straight  at home. As for Metrolina Christian Academy, they now  have a losing record at 7-8.
 Hickory Grove Christian will have some time to savor their  victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Concord Academy at 7:00  p.m.  on January 14th. As for Metrolina Christian Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next  contest,  a  53-43  loss against North Raleigh Christian Academy on the 4th.
