The Springwood Wildcats fought the good fight in their overtime match against the Lee-Scott Academy Warriors on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 54-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warriors. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Springwood of the 37-36 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture two weeks ago.
Lee-Scott Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Madison Davis out in front who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Davis is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 15 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mary kathryn Harris, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds.
Springwood has not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-7 record this season. As for Lee-Scott Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season.
Springwood does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Lee-Scott Academy is on the road again on Friday and plays the Gators at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Glenwood will be looking to extend their current 13-game winning streak.
