On the hitting side, Olivia Palfreeman was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February. Sydney Carroll was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, after some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three matchups, Mortimer Jordan finally came back down to earth on Tuesday. They lost 11-2 to Jasper. The Blue Devils' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Mortimer Jordan saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chloe Condray, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.
Chelsea pushed their record up to 19-9-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Mortimer Jordan, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-13.
Thursday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Chelsea hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .339. However, it's not like Mortimer Jordan struggles in that department as they've averaged .336. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
