After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Pawnee, the Mt. Olive Wildcats were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They secured a 44-40 W over Dupo. This was payback for Mt. Olive, who suffered a 58-49 loss the last time these two teams met.
Mt. Olive found their leader in underclassman Matthew Bywater, who almost dropped a triple-double on 27 points, 11 rebounds, and nine steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which Bywater has scored at least 25% of Mt. Olive's points. Another player making a difference was Dexter Frizzo, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.
Mt. Olive's victory bumped their record up to 2-8. As for Dupo, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mt. Olive will face off against North Greene at 7:30 p.m. on December 21st. Dupo won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Steeleville at 6:00 p.m. on December 13th. Steeleville will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
