It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but North Pike had no problem doing just that on Friday. They breezed past the Gautier Gators to the tune of 54-7. Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead North Pike to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kadence Thompson, who posted 11 points in addition to five boards and three steals. Thompson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kadence Jordan, who scored ten points.
North Pike pushed their record up to 22-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.5 points over those games. As for Gautier, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-21.
Coming up, North Pike will square off against Laurel at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Laurel will roll in looking for their 26th straight win, something North Pike surely won't give up without a fight. Gautier does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
