Mathews has not had much luck with the Wolverines recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Carver College and Career Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Brandon Hill out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 27 points and nine steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hill has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Camron Paul, who dropped a double-double on 35 points and ten rebounds.
Mathews has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-15 record this season. As for Carver College and Career Academy, their victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-1.
Mathews will take on the Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Virginia (Surry County is ranked 411th, while the Blue Devils are ranked 421st). As for Carver College and Career Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
