Softball Recap: St. Paul Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for St. Paul, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Mapleton Mounties a 6-0 shutout on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Flyers, who have now won four matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Not much got past Isabella Guerra, who gave up just eight hits to keep Mapleton off the board. Guerra has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Ella Kalizewski and Taegan Mansfield-Bush did most of the damage at the plate: Kalizewski went 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI, while Mansfield-Bush went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Zoe Roth, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

The victory got St. Paul back to even at 6-6. As for Mapleton, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.
