The Splendora Wildcats''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their ninth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Vidor, falling 55-6. While losing is never fun, Splendora can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 930th, while Vidor is ranked 375th).
Russel Cash threw for 76 yards and a touchdown. Kyle Thomas was his top target, picking up 37 receiving yards.
Splendora's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 1-9. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 8.5 points per game. As for Vidor, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-4.
Splendora does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Vidor will square off against Lindale at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lindale is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
