After flying high against the International Leadership of Texas Lancaster-DeSoto Eagles last Wednesday, the UME Preparatory Academy EAGLES came back down to earth. UME Preparatory Academy lost to Westlake Academy on the road by a decisive 58-44 margin on Thursday. UME Preparatory Academy lost against Westlake Academy in their previous head to head back in February of 2017, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 72-33 score last time.
UME Preparatory Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being William Barnes, who scored 17 points along with three steals. Will Lupton was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with three steals.
UME Preparatory Academy has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-11 record this season. As for Westlake Academy, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
UME Preparatory Academy won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Newman International Academy at 7:30 p.m. on January 19th. The timing is sure in Newman International Academy's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while UME Preparatory Academy has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road. As for Westlake Academy, they will square off against Takoma Academy at 11:40 a.m. on Thursday.
