Rappahannock County can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent game on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 60-36 margin over Madison County. Given Rappahannock County's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 106th, while Madison County is ranked 310th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Several Mountaineers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ava Jenkins, who scored 11 points. Annie Herrman was another key contributor, scoring three points along with four steals.
Rappahannock County's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 16-6. As for Madison County, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost ten of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-18 record this season.
Rappahannock County will stay at home for another game and welcome Clarke County at 5:30 p.m. on February 12th. Clarke County has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 271 points over their last four contests. As for Madison County, they will head out on the road to face off against Page County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Page County has five straight wins, Madison County has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
