The Lewis County Lions lost against the Rowan County Vikings back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Lewis County took a 60-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Rowan County. Lewis County has not had much luck with Rowan County recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Rowan County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Colby Wilburn led the charge by scoring 15 points along with three steals. Wilburn is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last 13 games he's played. Brayden Mirus was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Lewis County has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. As for Rowan County, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lewis County will challenge Greenup County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Greenup County will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Rowan County, they will head out on the road to challenge Fleming County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Fleming County will be looking to keep their seven-game home win streak alive.
