Clifton-Clyde won the last time they faced Centre and Sevy Wurtz did her part to make sure it happened again. The Eagles breezed past the Cougars to the tune of 66-16 on Thursday with plenty of help from Wurtz, who went 11-for-18 on her way to 26 points along with six assists and six rebounds. The game was her fifth in a row with at least 15 points.

Another player making a difference was Eden Close, who posted six points and five boards. She also posted an assist, marking her first of the season.

The win made it two in a row for Clifton-Clyde and bumps their season record up to 3-1. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 57 points in those games. As for Centre, their defeat was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-1.

Looking ahead, Clifton-Clyde will be home for the holidays to greet Bishop Seabury Academy on Friday. Centre has already played their next matchup (against Rural Vista [Hope/White City]), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
