The St. Michael the Archangel Warriors came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against Trinity at Meadow View by a score of 38-31. For St. Michael the Archangel, this counts as revenge for the 44-30 loss Trinity at Meadow View walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2023.
St. Michael the Archangel got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Janaye Martinez out in front who dropped a double-double on ten points and 24 rebounds. Martinez is crushing the rebound category: she's posted at least ten every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Anjalia Bryant, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and six steals.
St. Michael the Archangel's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-6. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.7 points per game. As for Trinity at Meadow View, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Michael the Archangel has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Foxcroft at 5:00 p.m. on February 9th. Foxcroft's defense has only allowed 26.8 points per game this season, so St. Michael the Archangel's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Trinity at Meadow View, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Chelsea Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
