The Glencoe Crimson Tide are taking a road trip to face off against the Newberg Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Glencoe's pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so Newberg's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Glencoe is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Oregon's top teams: Forest Grove, who was ranked 19th at the time (Glencoe was ranked 18th). The Crimson Tide fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 2-1 on Friday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Lexi Brester was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she pitched six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Glencoe saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rylee Marion, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double.
Meanwhile, Newberg can bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Liberty as they made off with a 7-0 win. The Tigers not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 15th (when they won 24-9).
Not much got past Gracie Spry, who gave up just five hits to keep Liberty off the board.
On the hitting side, Delainy Willard was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lucy Kitchen, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Newberg lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Glencoe's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-6. As for Newberg, their record now sits at 6-10.
Glencoe took their victory against Newberg in their previous meeting two weeks ago by a conclusive 10-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Crimson Tide since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
