Seton Catholic Central is 0-10 against Chenango Valley since May of 2016 but things could change on Wednesday. The Saints will be playing in front of their home fans against the Warriors at 5:00 p.m.
On Monday, Seton Catholic Central came up short against Owego Free Academy and fell 8-4.

Olivia Nazarenus put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and five unearned) runs off eight hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
In other batting news, Shannon Mentz was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. Olivia Delviscio was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Chenango Valley got the win against Waverly on Monday by a conclusive 13-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Warriors.
Like Seton Catholic Central, Chenango Valley also got a great game from a two-way player: Natalie Tyler. She struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Tyler was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.
In other batting news, Chenango Valley got a massive performance out of Makenzi Reinhard, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Amelia Paske, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.
Chenango Valley now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Seton Catholic Central, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Seton Catholic Central has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Chenango Valley struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Seton Catholic Central suffered a grim 14-2 defeat to Chenango Valley when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Saints avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
