The Alief Elsik Rams will head out on the road to challenge the Fulshear Chargers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Alief Elsik has given up an average of 12.3 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Alief Elsik fell victim to George Ranch and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Longhorns, falling 15-0. The loss continues a trend for the Rams in their meetings with the Longhorns: they've now lost seven in a row.
Alief Elsik saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Angela Roldan, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Fulshear waltzed into their match on Tuesday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They never let the Bears get on the board and left with a 17-0 victory. The Chargers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by six runs or more this season.
Fulshear got a massive performance out of Ava Callahan, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that Callahan launched this season. Another player making a difference was Ava Galaviz, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Fulshear lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in March of 2024.
Fulshear's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-5. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.6 runs over those games. As for Alief Elsik, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-10.
Friday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Alief Elsik hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .427. However, it's not like Fulshear struggles in that department as they've averaged .431. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Alief Elsik suffered a grim 16-0 defeat to Fulshear in their previous meeting two weeks ago. Can the Rams avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
