Sharyland has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge The Mission Veterans Memorial Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
Last Friday, Sharyland had to suffer through a rough 50-20 loss at the hands of Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial.
Meanwhile, Mission Veterans Memorial got themselves on the board against Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Southwest on Thursday, but Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Southwest never followed suit. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 34-0 win over the Javelinas. The victory was just what Mission Veterans Memorial needed coming off of a 56-36 defeat in their prior match.
Braden Luedeker continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 368 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 14.7 yards per attempt, and also rushing for 113 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries. Luedeker is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last four games he's played. Abel Lucio also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
With Sharyland's loss and Mission Veterans Memorial's win, both teams now sport identical 3-4 records.
Sharyland took their victory against Mission Veterans Memorial in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 by a conclusive 47-21. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sharyland since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
