The Frontier Cougars will head out on the road to take on the Buckeye Trail Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Frontier focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Thursday.
Last Thursday, Frontier came up short against Monroe Central and fell 65-53.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Grace Knowlton, who scored 24 points. That was a full 45.3% of Frontier's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Morgan Haught, who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, Buckeye Trail lost to Shenandoah on the road by a decisive 52-34 margin on Thursday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Buckeye Trail in their matchups with Shenandoah: they've now lost six in a row.
Frontier has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-5 record this season. As for Buckeye Trail, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7.
Frontier took their victory against Buckeye Trail in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 by a conclusive 52-27. The rematch might be a little tougher for Frontier since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
