This season hasn't been kind to the Fort Washakie Eagles, who are still winless after their fourth match. They fell 42-34 to Meeteetse on Thursday. Fort Washakie has struggled against Meeteetse recently, as their contest on Thursday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Kayla Horsen was her usual excellent self, scoring 24 points along with nine rebounds and six steals for Meeteetse. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Horsen has scored at least a third of Meeteetse's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylin Bass, who scored five points along with ten rebounds and five assists.
Fort Washakie dropped their record down to 0-4 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 27.0 points per game. As for Meeteetse, their victory ended a seven-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-9.
Coincidentally, Fort Washakie and Meeteetse will both be playing Dubois the next time they take the court. Meeteetse will head out to face Dubois at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, while Fort Washakie will head out to face them at 5:30 p.m. on February 6th.
