Baseball Recap: Monday's Win Is Larue County's Sixth in Last Eight Outings

Larue County never let their opponents score on Monday. They blew past the Caverna Colonels 15-0. The Hawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 18 matches by six runs or more this season.

Hunter Richardson looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Ryan Hughes was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Garren Hayes, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Larue County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Caverna only posted an OBP of .100.

Larue County has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That somehow still isn't as good as their 24-7-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Caverna, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-22.

As of now, neither Larue County nor the Colonels have any future games scheduled.
