Fayette Ware is 4-0 against Crockett County since December of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Fayette Ware Wildcats will be home for the holidays to greet the Crockett County Cavaliers at 3:30 p.m. The timing is sure in Fayette Ware's favor as the team sits on ten straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Crockett County has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
Even though White Station scored an imposing 65 points last Tuesday, Fayette Ware still came out on top. Fayette Ware snuck past White Station with a 70-65 win. Given Fayette Ware's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 14th, while White Station is ranked 120th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Eric Jones, who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Tacarien Freeman, who scored ten points along with seven assists.
Meanwhile, Crockett County pushed their score all the way to 59 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 69-59 to Chester County.
Fayette Ware's win bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Crockett County, they have fallen quite a ways from their 22-9 record last season and are now at 1-8.
Fayette Ware took their victory against Crockett County when the teams last played back in November by a conclusive 64-43. Will Fayette Ware repeat their success, or does Crockett County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
