With a playoff game on the line, the Elkins Elks rose to the challenge on Friday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 63-27 victory over Clinton. The win was just business as usual for Elkins, who after 11 games remain undefeated this season.
It was another big night for Da' Shawn Chairs, who rushed for 153 yards and five touchdowns on only 13 carries. Chairs has been hot recently, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Dizzy Dean, who threw for 206 yards and two touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes.
Elkins has yet to lose a contest at home this season, leaving them with a 11-0 record. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 42.4 points. As for Clinton, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-4.
Elkins will face off against Monticello at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Monticello is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games. Clinton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
