The Poquoson Islanders will be home for the holidays to greet the Warhill Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
Poquoson's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They were outmatched by Smithfield at home and fell 81-52.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Dayne Galacgac, who scored 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dominic Galacgac, who scored 13 points.
Warhill can finally bid farewell to their six-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Wednesday. They walked away with a 56-46 victory over Jamestown. That 56-46 margin sets a new team best for Warhill this season.
Poquoson's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Warhill, their win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-3.
Poquoson came up short against Warhill in their previous matchup back in January, falling 48-36. Can Poquoson avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
