The Animo Watts Warriors will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Animo Pat Brown Gryphons at 5:30 p.m. Hopefully Animo Watts focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Thursday.
The matchup between Animo Watts and New Designs Watts hardly resembled the 2-0 effort from their previous meeting. Animo Watts put the hurt on New Designs Watts with a sharp 66-46 win. Animo Watts has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 20 points or more this season.
Animo Watts can attribute much of their success to Johntae Forshae, who scored 12 points along with eight steals and seven assists, and Jaden Em, who scored 15 points along with three steals. Em has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last seven times he's played. Jaydin Smith was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 20 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Animo Pat Brown's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They were outmatched by WISH Academy at home and fell 70-33. Animo Pat Brown was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-9.
Animo Watts' win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-4. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 49 points. As for Animo Pat Brown, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8.
Animo Watts beat Animo Pat Brown 43-36 when the teams last played back in November of 2023. Will Animo Watts repeat their success, or does Animo Pat Brown have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
