Fairhaven found their leader in sophomore Kyle Soares, who rushed for 202 yards on only 12 carries. Those 202 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Soares. Kingston St.Pierre was another key player, rushing for 32 yards and a pair of scores.
Fairhaven was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 330 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September.
The win was the fourth in a row for Fairhaven, bringing their record up to 9-1. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 8.0 points on average over those games. As for Stoneham, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fairhaven will welcome Bishop Fenwick at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Stoneham, after each having a week off, they and Reading Memorial will shake off the rust and duke it out at 10:15 a.m. on the 27th.
