The Male Bulldogs will head out to face off against the Lexington Catholic Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Lexington Catholic will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Male extended their winning streak to four on Tuesday. The Bulldogs were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over Christian Academy-Louisville.
Jaden Miller tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on West Bickett, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Male's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 5-2 (and 13-15 when he doesn't). Trenton Morris was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Lexington Catholic and Lafayette meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Tuesday. The Knights never let the Generals get on the board and left with a 6-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won 11 contests by six runs or more so far this season.
The result came thanks to Noah Cook's shutout, as he gave up just three hits.
On the hitting side, Owen Jenkins was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Wasik, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Lexington Catholic is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-7-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Male, they pushed their record up to 18-17 with the win, which was their third straight at home.
Male came up short against Lexington Catholic in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, falling 7-4. Can the Bulldogs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
