The Centaurus Warriors struggled with offensive rebounds on Wednesday (the Silver Creek Raptors had nine more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Centaurus took a 44-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Raptors. If Centaurus was looking for revenge after losing 35-15 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Despite the defeat, Centaurus had strong showings from Ingrid Lorton, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds, and Nadia Colacion, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds. That was a full 37.1% of Centaurus' points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Silver Creek got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Izzy Spagnoletti out in front who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and four blocks. Lucy Waring was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.
Centaurus dropped their record down to 4-12 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 27.0 points per game. As for Silver Creek, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-9 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Centaurus will take on the Tigers at 11:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Holy Family focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Thursday. As for Silver Creek, they will stay at home for another game and welcome the Wizards at 5:30 p.m. on February 7th.
