After a string of three wins, South Pike's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. Their rough 42-20 loss to Wesson might stick with them for a while. South Pike was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 21-0.
Although South Pike took the loss, they still got scores from Lemari Cowart, Martavius Jones, and Devin Johnson.
Meanwhile, Port Gibson's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They fell just short of Franklin County by a score of 28-26.
South Pike's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Port Gibson, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 2-7.
South Pike ended up a good deal behind Port Gibson in their previous matchup back in September of 2016, losing 30-12. Will South Pike have more luck at home instead of on the road?
