After two games on the road, Sheridan is heading back home. They will take on the Southmont Mounties at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Sheridan will be strutting in after a victory while the Mounties will be coming in after a loss.
Sheridan scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They breezed by Herron on the road to the tune of 87-39. That 48 point margin sets a new team best for Sheridan this season.
Sheridan's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Trey Page, who scored 20 points along with three steals. Page has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Wright, who scored 16 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Southmont's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fifth straight defeat. Their tough 68-46 defeat to Parke Heritage might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Southmont can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 307th, while the Wolves are ranked 111th).
Sheridan's win bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Southmont, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.
Things could have been worse for Sheridan, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 59-43 loss to the Mounties when the teams last played back in November of 2022.
