Basketball Recap: Timberland Comes Up Short

Timberland extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 12 on Monday, dropping them down to 0-11. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 57-52 heartbreaker at the hands of the North Charleston Cougars. If the Wolves were looking for revenge after losing 58-44 to the Cougars when the teams met back in January of 2020, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Despite the loss, Timberland still got an impressive performance from Kevin Brown, who dropped a double-double with 23 points and 13 boards. Brown is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last five games he's played. Ellis Wiggins was another key player, putting up nine points and five rebounds.

As for North Charleston, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.8 points over those games.

Ka'Mari Meggett was nothing short of spectacular: he dropped a double-double with 17 points and 12 boards. Another player making a difference was Akorey Lomax, who posted 11 points.

Timberland didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 49-40 loss against Fairfield Central on the 30th. As for North Charleston, they have also already played their next contest, a 55-54 defeat against Philip Simmons on the 30th.
