In what's become a running theme this season, the Pyramid Lake Lakers gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 67-26 win over Sierra Sage Academy/Right Of Passage. The victory was familiar territory for Pyramid Lake who now have nine in a row.
It was another big night for Kaitlin Mandell, who scored 15 points along with seven steals and five assists. Seqouia Harjo was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with two steals.
Shalaya Barraza, who's played more minutes than anyone else on the Lakers squad sat out for Tuesday's matchup. With Barraza sidelined, Pyramid Lake had to make some changes to the lineup. And. Jordan Keo made the most of the opportunity, scoring six points. A few more games like that and she might be seeing even more time going forward.
Despite the loss, Sierra Sage Academy/Right Of Passage had strong showings from S. Jamice, who scored 11 points, and W. CiCi, who scored eight points. That was a full 42.3% of Sierra Sage Academy/Right Of Passage's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Pyramid Lake pushed their record up to 17-4 with that victory, which was their eighth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.3 points per game. As for Sierra Sage Academy/Right Of Passage, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-13.
Pyramid Lake will be playing at home against Mineral County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pyramid Lake knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven games -- so hopefully Mineral County likes a good challenge. As for Sierra Sage Academy/Right Of Passage, they will head out on the road to challenge Coleville at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Coleville will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Sierra Sage Academy/Right Of Passage surely won't give up without a fight.
