The South Florence Bruins lost against the North Myrtle Beach Chiefs back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. South Florence lost to the Chiefs on the road by a decisive 38-23 margin. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points South Florence has scored all season.
Despite the loss, South Florence still got an impressive performance from Jada Montgomery, who scored 12 points.
North Myrtle Beach found their leader in underclassman Madison Vereen, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Vereen is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last four games she's played. Faith Farmer was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with two steals.
South Florence has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-10 record this season. As for North Myrtle Beach, they pushed their record up to 15-7 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Florence will take on the Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. West Florence is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak. As for North Myrtle Beach, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Seahawks at 6:00 p.m. Myrtle Beach is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
