Even though the University Phoenix scored an imposing 69 points on Thursday, the Millburn Millers still came out on top. Millburn took their match against University 76-69. Given Millburn's advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 59th, while University is ranked 252nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Noah Ravitz was his usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double on 29 points and nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Zach Benmorits, who scored 18 points along with five assists.
Millburn is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. As for University, they dropped their record down to 8-13 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road.
Millburn will face off against Fair Lawn at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Millburn focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 on Thursday. University does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
