AAAAA Region 7A recap October 22, 2013
Creekview added to the longest winning streak in AAAAA Region 7A this week by beating Cambridge, 27-24. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Grizzlies.
Northview took down North Springs 42-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. Dj Pearson threw for 109 yards and 2 touchdowns and ran for 14 yards during the win.
Bryan Moore was a passing and rushing force as the Bears lost to Creekview. He completed 21 passes for 236 yards and 2 touchdowns and also ran for 40 yards. Moore's favorite target this week was Christian Johnston, who caught 5 passes for 95 yards.
Kyle Wilkie threw for 216 yards and 3 touchdowns. He was 18-28 with 0 interceptions.
Wilkie and Isaiah Rodgers gave Terry Crowder's team a balanced attack in passing and rushing last week.
The Titans' Pearson and Matty Biondich led the league in both passing and receiving yards. Pearson has thrown for 1,927 yards this season, while Biondich has 57 catches for 879 yards. Rodgers from the Grizzlies leads the league in rushing with 550 yards.
Going into this week's game against Sequoyah, Northview's Pearson needs 73 passing yards to surpass 2,000 on the season.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Chad Davenport's team takes on the Chiefs. The Titans are currently in third, while Sequoyah is in first.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Northview takes on James Teter's team. The Titans have allowed 152 points this season, while the Chiefs have given up 134. Northview allowed 7 points last week as it defeated the Spartans.
