After flying high against Dayton  on Friday, Spring Creek came back down to earth. The Spring Creek Spartans took  a  50-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fernley Vaqueros on Saturday. The  loss   continues a  trend for the Spartans in their matchups with the Vaqueros: they've now lost six in a row.
 Several Spartans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was   Ryan Youngblood, who  posted 16 points. Another player making a difference was  Jade Buzzetti, who  had 11  points.
  Taylor Tollestrup was  her usual excellent self,  dropping  a double-double on 22 points and 12  rebounds for Fernley. Tollestrup has been hot recently, having  posted eight or more  boards the last three times she's  played. The team also got some help courtesy of  Jaelece Wasson, who  scored nine  points along with five  rebounds and three  steals.
Spring Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Fernley, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won four of their last five matches,  which provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record  this season.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Spring Creek will face off against Elko at 6:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. As for Fernley, they will square off against Lowry at 6:00  p.m.  on Wednesday.
