Archbishop Alter is 8-0-1 against Fairmont since August of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Knights will head out to square off against the Firebirds at 7:15 p.m. Archbishop Alter is coming into the match hot, having won their last six games.

Archbishop Alter barely beat Chaminade Julienne Catholic the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Knights' defense stepped up to hand the Eagles a 5-0 shutout on Thursday. Archbishop Alter might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by four goals or more this season.

Paige Sheets and Ella VanDenabeele scored all five of Archbishop Alter's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 22 goals.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last matchup, Fairmont made sure to put some goals up on the board against Springfield on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 5-0 victory. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Fairmont's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio soccer rankings (they are ranked 81st, while Springfield are ranked 368th).

Archbishop Alter's win bumped their record up to 11-1-3. As for Fairmont, their victory bumped their record up to 6-4-5.

Archbishop Alter skirted past Fairmont 2-1 in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
