Adding to the longest winning streak in Bay Valley this week, Deer Valley beat Antioch 49-7. The victory was the seventh in a row for the Wolverines.
Deer Valley took down the Panthers 49-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. Kyle McDonald ran for 198 yards in the win.
Freedom's dynamic duo of Joe Sweeney and Nick Garcia proved tough for Heritage to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Sweeney threw for 228 yards and 2 touchdowns and Garcia had 141 yards receiving. Scotty Sanders helped Freedom's passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 36 yards.
Rich Woods' team's Nsimba Webster and Nzuzi Webster led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-0 quarterback Webster has thrown for 1,200 yards this season, while Webster has 13 catches for 330 yards. Pittsburg's Harris Ross leads the league in rushing yards with 1,559.
Fans will be thrilled by an exciting game in the secondary when the Wolverines' Webster goes up against Liberty's Kyle Trego.
Next week's game between Deer Valley and the Lions will feature a good passing match up as Webster will test his arm against Trego's defensive ability.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Liberty takes on the Wolverines. As it stands, Jeff Walters' team is in third, while Deer Valley is in first.
There should be lots of points scored when the Lions and the Wolverines face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Liberty comes in having scored 238 this season, while Deer Valley has scored 321. The Lions scored 13 points last week as they lost to the Pirates.
