Eustis has gone a perfect 10-0 against Mount Dora recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Panthers will welcome the Hurricanes at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Eustis has five straight wins, Mount Dora has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Eustis' pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. Everything went their way against Keystone Heights as they made off with an 11-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won eight matchups by nine runs or more so far this season.
Carson Roden looked comfortable as she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Emmy Luke was incredible, firing off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Dalilah Taylor, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Eustis lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Keystone Heights didn't launched any home runs.
Meanwhile, Mount Dora didn't have quite enough to beat Belleview on Tuesday and fell 2-1.
Mount Dora saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was ADDISON GANUS, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Eustis pushed their record up to 16-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Mount Dora, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-11.
Mount Dora's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Eustis hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .355. It's a different story for Mount Dora, though, as they've only averaged .230. Will they be able to contain Eustis' hitters?
Eustis took their win against Mount Dora when the teams last played back in February by a conclusive 10-0 score. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hurricanes turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
